A New Fashion Exhibition
I thought about creating a kind of BLOW-UP (a massive scale enlargement) of the technique I work with in my design line. I wanted to work with new materials and in new sizes, and that’s exactly what I did.
After sketching, I moved on to draping on a large scale. As always, I love to start with paper. The initial work with paper helps me build a large, avant-garde, and more unique silhouette, and it also allows me to experiment with a cheaper material in the first stage—which not only frees up creativity but is also more economical and environmentally friendly.
Then, I moved on to working with fabric, and created the initial pattern using computer-controlled laser cutting.
You’ll be able to see the final result very soon, in about two weeks. On December 22, 2016, an alternative and unique fashion show called "Shosh Couture" will take place at the "Beit Ha’ir" in Tel Aviv. It will be inspired by the exhibition "The Upside-Down Land" by artist and creator Zeev Engelmayer, also known as 'Shoshka,' and will be curated and produced by Nona Shalant. 15 Israeli designers, including myself, will present 15 different avant-garde fashion looks at this one-of-a-kind event. The unique pieces will be on display at Beit Ha’ir until the end of the exhibition.
And until then? We’ll wait patiently :-) In the meantime, here’s a small and special sneak peek of what’s to come:
