Many ask me where the inspiration for my work comes from, and I always smile and say that I am very attracted to the world of paper and the techniques that manipulate paper.

Paper is an ancient material, which has served us faithfully for over three thousand years. There are almost no limits on the capabilities of the paper and the various maneuvers that can be done on it. You can cut it, fold it, twist it, wrinkle it, curl it, tear it, trample it, crumble it, turn it into pulp, paint it, print it, shrink it, soften it and much more.

The uses of paper are also many. Hats, carpets, lanterns, aprons, disposable clothes, dividers, cufflinks, umbrellas, plates, cups, birthday decorations, kites, paper balloons, windmills and even works of art and paper sculptures can be made from it.

During my years of work as a fashion designer (and also during my years of study) I learned that working with paper cutouts is an integral part of a fashion designer's work. Working with paper fascinates me and interests me - the transition from paper alone and fabric to paper is, in my opinion, a basis for innovation in the field of fashion design.

Fashion these days is heavily influenced by paper, and I really enjoy using it as a source of inspiration. I chose to reveal some of my biggest inspirations here, and show what elements I use when I turn to design new items.
